Gladys J. Wright

Gladys J. Wright age 84, of Monticello, Kentucky passed from this life Thursday, July 2, 2020 at her home.

Gladys was born April 20, 1936 to the late George Jewell and Ottie Hammond in Frazer, Kentucky.

She was a member of Community Baptist Church and enjoyed watching UK ball games and loved babysitting.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ottie Jewell, brothers, Gaither Hammond, Harold Jewell, sisters, Edith Harris and Elsie Shaw.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Gene Wright, son, Bruce Wright (Dusty) of Monticello, daughter, Jennifer Staley (David) of Bronston, brother, Robert Jewell (Pat) of Dayton, Ohio, sister, Margaret Godsey of Frazer, grandchildren, Taylor Staley, Nicholas Staley, Ava Wright, Lillie Wright, Arianna Wright, Jayce Wright, Elijah Wright and a special young man who she loved dearly, Matthew Storey.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 6, 2020 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Ronald Shaw officiating.

Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
