Luied Phillips

Luied Phillips, age 82 of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Luied was born March 5, 1937 to the late Shird Phillips and Lillie May Ross Phillips in Cedar Hill Community of Wayne County, Kentucky.

He married his wife Sylvia Rose Phillips on December 31, 1954 in Monticello, Kentucky.                                                        He was retired from Tecumseh where he worked for 27 years. He was a Member of Gospel Tabernacle Church, currently serving as life long deacon, and current Adult Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, the outdoors, but most of all he loved his family and his church.

Luied was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brenda Kay Brewer; brothers, Bro. Montie Phillips; Starlin Phillips; Waco Phillips; sisters, Glendo Phillips; Helen Jones; Adell Compton; son in law, Fred Brewer.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Sylvia; son, Jerry Randall “Randy” Phillips (Glenda) of Bourbon Rd.; daughters, Geraldine Bradford (Wendell) of Clarksville, TN; sister in law, Mary Phillips of Bourbon Rd.; grandchildren, Cortney Brown; Amanda Phillips; Justin Hawkins; Dustin Brewer; Jordan Phillips; and eight great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Phillips officiating.

Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky.
