Ganzie Lee Nicholas

Ganzie Lee Nicholas, age 95 of Burnside, Kentucky passed away at his residence on Friday July 19, 2019. Mr. Nicholas was born on November 18, 1923 in Quinton, Kentucky to the late Claude and Rhoda Flynn Nicholas. Ganzie enjoyed woodworking, bartering and trading, playing poker and camping. He loved being in the company of his dogs, Sassy and Molly. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII, he was a prisoner of war and attained the rank of Sergeant. Ganzie was of the baptist faith.
Mr. Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Rhoda Flynn Nicholas; sons, Ganzie Nicholas, Jr., Jerry Wayne Nicholas and Eddie Dean Nicholas; brothers, Wesley Nicholas, Gola Nicholas, Olden Nicholas, and Frank Gibson; sister, Zula Gholdson; daughter in law, Brenda; son in law, Herschel Tony; grandsons Randall Toney and Mikey Nicholas.
Ganzie leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Anna “Paris” Nicholas; son, Ronald Ray “Buddy” Nicholas (Davie) of Burnside, KY, Michael Dewayne Nicholas (Tina) of Burnside, KY, Johnny Albert Nicholas (Ursula) of Somerset and Terry Nicholas ( Carrie) of Richmond, KY. daughters, Gloria Ann Toney “Sis” of Burnside, Regina Mae Langdon (Buddy) of Somerset, KY, Linda Sullivan (Steve) of Burnside, KY, and Sharon Nicholas (Ralph) of Somerset, KY; daughters-in-law, Ruth Ann Nicholas, Connie Nicholas, and Pattie Nicholas; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Nicholas will be Monday July 22, 2019 from 11-1 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow on Monday July 22, 2019 at 1 P.M. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Dykes officiating. Full Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard. Interment will be in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
