Jimmy David Cook

Jimmy David Cook, age 69, of Harrodsburg, Kentucky and formerly of Somerset, passed from this life on Monday, February 11, 2019.

He was born on April 12, 1949 in Somerset, son of the late Ransom and Dora Ilene Smiley Cook.

Jimmy was a dedicated truck driver and enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard work and Nascar. He loved his dog Lilly and driving a truck, but most of all he loved his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Bobby Lemuel Cook, Therlan Gene Cook and Elbert Have Cook.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Milburn Cook of Harrodsburg; one son, Christopher David (and Brittany) Cook of Somerset; two stepsons, Seth Jamison (and Matthew) Singleton of Louisville and Brody Tanner Pitman of Lexington; two sisters, Lou “Big” Helen (and Leslie) Warren of Big Springs, TX and Kathy Adeline (and Ricky) Cundiff of Somerset; and two grandsons, Colton David Cook and Wesson Landry Cook.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral service to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
