William Franklin “Frank”
Gilliam, Sr., age 70, of Monticello, passed from this life on
Thursday, June 9, 2016, in Somerset.
Frank was born in Rome,
Georgia, on October 17, 1945, son of the late James Preston and
Hazel Williams Gilliam.
On January 30, 1964, in Selma, Indiana,
he married Connie Saylor, the love of his life.
They celebrated their 50th
Wedding Anniversary at the Miami Homestead Speedway.
He was a retired tool maker for the
General Motors Company.
After retiring, Frank continued to work
as a self-employed master carpenter and heat and cool
He is survived by his two sons,
William Franklin Gilliam, II, of Monticello, and Travis Scott
(and Sondra) Gilliam, of Greenwood, Indiana; his brothers, James
Preston (and Pam) Gilliam, of Echo Point, and David Paul (and
Karen) Gilliam, of Muncie, Indiana; his sisters, Carol Ann (and
Merle) Saunders, of Selma, Indiana, and Billie Faye (and Chuck)
Messersmith, of Winchester, Indiana; his grandchildren, Courtney
(and Brandon) Tate, Bradley Gilliam and Alex Gilliam; his
great-granddaughter, Aria Tate; his nephews and nieces, Jason,
Damon, Rachel, Chad, Drew, Jeri Ann, Joe Alan, Brent and Karicia;
and many other family members and friends, all who will mourn
Frank is preceded in death by
his parents; his loving wife, Connie, who passed away April 23,
2016; and his daughter, Toni Michelle Gilliam.
All services will be privately
held by Frank’s family.
