Saint John Paul, 75, passed away on
Friday, June 10, 2016 surrounded by his family in Somerset.
He succumbed to a stroke from earlier in the week. He will
be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Saint John Paul was born on August 7,
1940 in Portsmouth, Ohio and graduated from Portsmouth West High
School including a member of the National Honor Society.
He worked in the Portsmouth area and throughout his career was a
dairy plant manager, restaurant manager, ambulance driver, EMT,
National Registered Advanced Paramedic, and a chemical operator
and chemical safety coordinator. The companies he worked
for included Ideal Dairy, Coffee Cup, Pizza Pub, Life Ambulance,
and U.S. Chemicals, Mitsubishi, Aristech Chemicals [Haverhill,
Ohio]. Saint John also owned a Saw Sharping business in
West Portsmouth and provided service to the public. Saint
John volunteered for many years to the following organizations
in the area: Washington Township Fire Department & Ambulance and
Christmas Float, and Life Ambulance. His hobbies included
fishing, boating, making custom knives, carpentry, and furniture
Saint John Paul was the beloved son
of the late John Paul and Wanda [Penn] Paul of West Portsmouth.
Saint John is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Paul, and sister,
Michael (Frank) Peters. His children residing in Ohio
include Michael 'Tim' (Carolyn) Paul, Nathanial Tyson (Jane)
Paul, Kris (Richie) Mennona, and John (Tracy) Paul. Saint
John had six grandchildren including Stephen Paul, Richard Paul,
McKenna Martin, Jacob Paul, Isabella Paul, and Lila Paul.
Saint John was cremated on
Monday June 13, 2016 through Southern Oaks Funeral Home in
Somerset. The family will lay Saint John’s
ashes to rest in Portsmouth, Ohio, with a small ceremony later
this year, in September, to remember his loving contributions to
his family and community.

charge of arrangements.
