Judy Mayfield Troxtel

     September 5, 1945 - April 17, 2016

Judy Mayfield Troxtel, age 70, of Burnside, passed from this life on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.

Judy was born on September 5, 1945, in Somerset, daughter of the late Carlos and Christine Daulton Mayfield.  She married “her Baby”, James Troxtel, on June 1, 1963, in White Lily, and was his loving wife for over 52 years.  Her family will have beloved memories of their “guardian angel”, and knew she was loved “to the moon and back” by all.  Judy loved her daughters, sons-in-law as her own, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She would give her own names to her grandchildren, like “Mamaw’s Precious”.  Her family has been blessed by God for His giving her to them.

She is survived by her husband, James Troxtel; her daughters, Lora Ping, of Burnside, Lisa (and Ronnie) Slavey, of Somerset, Lindy (and Barton) Mayfield, of Indiana, Lana (and Steve) Brown, and Tonya (and Tony) Slavey, all of Somerset; her brothers, Chuck (and Donna) Mayfield, Kenneth (and Grace) Mayfield, and Michael (and Tina) Mayfield, all of Somerset; her sisters, Joyce Morrow, of Burnside, and Janie (and Jack) Troxtel, of Somerset; fifteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents; two siblings who passed at birth; her sister, Thelma Stigall; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, April 18, 2016, after 6:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Josh Wesley and Bro. Clark officiating.  Burial will be in Southern Oaks Cemetery.  Judy’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The Troxtel family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Rockcastle Respiratory Care Center, in Mt. Vernon, who took excellent care of Judy for one and a half years.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
