Helen Dean “Dee” Sears Meece,
age 78, of Somerset, passed from this life on Monday, September
19, 2016, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Dee was born on June 27, 1938,
in Pulaski County, daughter of the late Etheridge and Flora
She was a graduate of the Pulaski High
School Graduating Class of 1956.
Dee married Elbert Clifton Meece on
December 15, 1956, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
She was a retired purchasing agent for
the Ball Corporation of Cincinnati.
Dee was a member of the Jehovah’s
Witness Kingdom Hall of Somerset.
Following are in Dee’s own
words for her obituary:
“I loved the best I could, I
loved my family and my cats.
I think I made an impression on people
(maybe not always good).
I’ve never hated anyone.
I always manage to get along with
I’m sure I’ll be missed by some (for a
little while, anyway) Ha!
I still have my sense of humor!
Dee is survived by her two
sons, Jeff Clifton (and wife, Nancy) Meece, of Latham, Ohio, and
Kevin Gerald (and wife, Christine) Meece, of Corbin; her
brother, Edward (and wife, Martha) Sears, of McCordsville,
Indiana; her grandchildren, Magen (and husband, Chris) Lufcy,
Mackenzie (and husband, John) Stokien, Kyra Meece and Kylee
Meece; and her great-grandchildren, Caitlin Stokien, Preston
Stokien, Eliza Lufcy, Olivia Lufcy and Brody Lufcy.
She is preceded in death by her
parents; her husband, Elbert Clifton; two brothers, Jerry Sears
and Cleamon Sears; and her sisters, Dorcie Lowery, Thelma
Martin, Mary Dunbar, Edna Scott and Marge Edwards.
Visitation will be Saturday,
September 24, 2016, after 12:00 noon, in Southern Oaks Funeral
Funeral services will follow
the visitation in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, at 1:00
p.m., with Minister Frank Chovan officiating.
Burial will be in Rest Haven
Cemetery, in Cincinnati, on Monday, September 26, 2016.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is
in charge of arrangements.
