Esmer Alexander, age 91, of
Somerset, passed from this life on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at
the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.
Esmer was born on September 30,
1924, in Berea, Kentucky, son of the late George and Eva Parker
He was a World War II United States Army
Esmer was a 55 year member of the Masons
and holder of 32nd
He enjoyed family and telling stories
from his childhood.
He enjoyed yard work, gardening and
Esmer was a member of Slate Branch
He is survived by his wife of
69 years, Ann Marie Alexander; their son, Dan (and Carolyn)
Alexander, of Knoxville; their daughters, Sue Mauller, of
Somerset, and Jean (and Jack) Clark, of Ludington, Michigan; his
brother Earl (and Margie) Alexander, of Lebanon, Ohio; his
sister, Bonnie Cooper, of Mason, Ohio; his sister-in-law,
Margaret Hurst, of Lexington; five grandchildren; seventeen
great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many
friends, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his
parents; three brothers; seven sisters; one grandson; and one
Visitation will be on Sunday,
March 20, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks
Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will follow
the visitation at 4:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with
Bro. Bill Dawson officiating.
Interment will be in Bluegrass Memorial
Gardens, in Lexington, on Monday, March 21, 2016, at 1:00 p.m.
