Alonzo W. “Pete” Neely age 76 of
Somerset, KY passed away on Sunday March 26, 2016 at Hospice of
Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born on August 18, 1939 in the
Delta Community of Wayne Co. KY., son of the late Edd and Bertha
Pete was saved while attending Zion
Baptist Church when he was twelve years old. For many years, he
was active at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Ohio. He retired from
Ford Motor Co. in 1994, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in
Oberlin, Ohio for thirty-five years. Having lived in Ohio for
many years, Pete moved to Somerset in 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl
Kendrick Neely of Somerset; one daughter, Dawn Neely Randall of
Oberlin, OH; one son, Gary (and Brenda) Neely of Amherst, OH and
three grandchildren, Nick Neely of OH, Christian Neely of New
York and Hannah Neely of OH. Pate is also survived by one
sister, Christeen (and Jim) Todd of OH; step-children, Patty
(and Randall) Dean of TN, Nancy (and Ernie) Osborn of N.C. and
Kemper (and Kelly) Kendrick of TN, ten step-grandchildren, three
step-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews that
will mourn his passing. He will be greatly missed by family and
Preceding him in death are his
parents; two brothers, Hollon Neely and Noble Neely; four
sisters, Opal Barnett, Rosie Dalton, Tresia Phillips and infant
Gracie P. Neely; Tommy Worley and Rosie Kidd who were raised as
his brother and sister.
Visitation will be held on Monday
March 28, 2016 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral
Home. Masonic Services will be conducted by the Burnside Masonic
Lodge #634 at 7PM.
Funeral Services will be held on
Tuesday March 29, 2016 at 1PM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks
Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Mitchell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mayfield
Cemetery in Bronston.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
